Con Co is an island located in Quang Tri Province in North Central Coast of Vietnam, about 30km from the mainland. It has not become a top name on Vietnam travel map yet, but the island has a lot of attractions for ocean world lovers.

From Cua Tung or Cua Viet Beach, you can ask local fishing boats or military boats to visit Con Co, because travelling services is not quite developed in here. After about 2h on boat, you will land at an amazing island which was created from volcano for millions years. Con Co is featured with super pristine beauty with immense old-growth tropical forests. You will see spectacular sceneries of nature such as giant basalt area or tropical ecosystem or one-of-a-kind coral reefs.

Tropical forests account more than 70% the total area of this volcanic island. The biodiversity is almost untouched by human and extremely rare and precious. You will feel so excited when walk hours by hours to explore the wilderness of forests and the rich biodiversity on Con Co. You will see very rare flora and fauna which you’ve never seen on mainland. Because of its plentiful wild life and green-all-year-round forests, Con Co is dubbed “the emerald of South China Sea”.

The most highlighted feature of Con Co is super rich and unique ocean ecosystem, especially coral system. There are 109 species of coral under the sea around Con Co, including many precious species such as red coral and black coral. Diving or snorkeling to see vast and stunning coral reefs, featured with other sea creatures and colorful fish blocks is a truly interesting experience.

Coral reefs in Con Co are under the depth of 4 meters, so it is easy for you to dive and see. The rare Black Coral is usually under the depth of 10 meters, so you have to be more professional in diving to see this mysterious coral. You should notice that tourism services have not been invested a lot in Con Co yet, so the best way is prepare your diving equipments before you go to the island.

Besides discovering the wilderness and ocean world of Con Co, you can also join usual activities on the beach such as swimming, camping, joining BBQ party, seeing sunset and sunrise, etc.
