Dragon Dance Festival is going to held near HoanKiem Lake in Hanoi
Under BlogHanoi will hold the 4th Dragon Dance Festival this Saturday 4th October 2014 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the city’s liberation. The festival will take place at Ly Thai To Flower Garden near HoanKiem Lake from 1.30pm to 18.30pm.
Dragon Dance Festival this year is expected to be larger in scale. A lot of dance teams come from 30 districts of the city with very careful preparation and interesting performances.
After the performances and an award ceremony, the dancers will parade around the HoanKiem Lake, which has been decorated with fresh flowers and flashing lights to create a joyful and festive ambience for the local people and international visitors.
Dragon Dance is a traditional dance and performance in various Asian countries, including Vietnam. Dragon is a legendary animal symbolizing great power, dignity, fertility, wisdom and luck. That’s why the dragon dance brings a lot of cultural and spiritual meanings to Vietnamese people.
