Co To Island, located in Quang Ninh Province in the Gulf of Tonkin is a archipelago of 50 islands, including Large Co To (Co To Lon), Small Co To (Co To Nho). It is a wonderful destination with the combination of beautiful beaches, imposing cliffs and rock, poetic fishing villages, natural forests and amazing lighthouse.

Co To still remain pristine beauty of an untouched island. Though more and more investments for tourism have been injected in the island recently, it is very naturally and wholesomely attractive.
Traveling by boat is the only way to get in Co To. It takes about 3-3.5 hours to start from Cai Rong Town (Van Don District, Quang Ninh), run through Bai Tu Long Bay and Quan Lan Island to finally come to Co To Island.

The beaches in Co To are perfect for swimming and bathing with clean white sand stretches, crystal blue water, featured by green forests embracing the seashore. There are a lot of beaches in Co To, but the outstanding ones must be Van Chai beach, Vang Chai beach, Hong Van beach. Besides, coastline in here is highlighted with imposing and fascinating cliffs lying along the sea. There are also numerous pebbles under the water. Walking on these pebbles will bring to you a different experience.

On these beautiful beaches, you can swim, sun bathing, staying and camping overnight on the beach or having a BBQ party on smooth and pure stretch of sand. You can also join fishing or snorkeling or especially watching sunrise and sunset on the beach.

Another interesting destination in Co To is the lighthouse. It is situated on the highest peak of Co To with 70m to the sea level. The path to the lighthouse is featured with poetic pine tree forest and stunning violet of wild flowers. When you stand on the lighthouse, you can see the whole view of the island as well as the further ocean. It is an incredible view of immense mountain, sea and sky. The lighthouse is also an ideal place to see the sunrise and sunset.

You can visit Ho Chi Minh Statue and Memorial in the center of the island, the berth, fishing village, small roads among pine trees forests. The best way is hiring a bike to ride around the island to explore it by yourself.

Eco-system is other strength of Co To Island. The island has a lot of primitive forests in the Large Co To. You can also take a boat to discover other small islands around the Large Co To. These islands, especially the Small Co To have not only stunning beaches but primeval forests with rich flora and fauna system as well as amazingly untouched landscapes.

Co To doesn’t have any special local food. But the island has abundant of fresh seafood such as lobster, squid, crab, different kinds of fishes, etc. You can buy them on the fishing boats with a pretty cheap price and cook right on the beach.
