Visiting Y Ti, you will have chance to observe awesome and imposing attraction of mountains, valley with vague cloud, wonderful terraces as well as unique mushroom-shaped houses of local people.
Located about 70km from Lao Cai City, Y Ti seems likes a road to heaven, featured with twisty roads, beautiful valley with full of mist and fluffy white clouds, imposing and endless green mountains. Cloud can cover the whole valley all day, especially in winter. Standing on a peak, you can see a white “ocean” of cloud under your feet, creating a greatly fanciful scenery.
Besides the fairy beauty of cloud, Y Ti also attracts tourists by outstanding terrace fields. The whole field is covered by an amazingly green of young paddy. The terrace stretches from the high peak to the foot of mountain, highlighted by small and unique houses of local people.
There are a lot of ethnic minorities in Y Ti Commune, but the most popular one is Ha Nhi people. Especially, Ha Nhi tribes live on the highest peak of mountains, where they make beautifully mushroom-shaped houses. These traditional houses of Ha Nhi people make this cloudy-land more fairylike.
Ha Nhi’s traditional house has very special and unique architecture, with 3-4 meters tall and two thick layers of wall of 35-40 centimeters. The wall is made from special soil, helping the Ha Nhi survive in the harsh weather condition which is snowy and foggy in winter and super hot and sunny in summer. The house has a short and small door and no window. The roof is made by wood and covered by grasses.
Everything in Y Ti is attractive and charming, from immense and imposing nature, poetic and fabulous cloudy sceneries, stunning terrace fields to one-of-a-kind houses, special life and cuture and lovely traditional costumes of Ha Nhi people.
