Exploring the pristine and charming Hon Seo
Under BlogHon Seo is a small island located in Phuong Mai Peninsula in Nhon Ly commune, Binh Dinh Province, about 17km from Quy Nhon City. Hon Seo is extremely pristine, deserted and has no sign of human life. It is ideal place for those who want to explore “Robinson wild life” with beautiful scenes of sea and island, colorful pebbles and large rocks on the beach.
The whole island looks like a huge ship standing on the sea. It is completely deserted island with only wild trees and flowers, rocky cliffs, various sea creatures and birds and no human life. One of the most interesting things about this island is a long stretch of colorful pebble stones. Colorful fist-shaped pebbles, eroded by the action of ocean waves over the years, become round and smooth. Beautiful pebbles are so attractive that most visitors want to take them home as pretty souvenirs. Some even bring them home to decorate houses or make a rock-garden.
Deeper about 10m from the pebbles area is a large and stunning cave which can contain hundreds people. The cave is an interesting place to rest after swimming in blue clear water. The sea water in here is super pure. You can see till the bottom, featured by amazing coral reefs, colorful flocks of fish swimming in the water and multi-shaped rocks lying undersea. You can swim in cool and clean water, scuba diving or snorkeling to discover the undersea world or take a boat to go fishing offshore.
From Hon Seo, you can have an amazing view of the sea in sunset and sunrise. You can also see Phuong Mai Peninsula on the left side, with beautiful Eo Gio Nhon Ly, Yen Island, etc. The island is perfect for adventure lovers. You can go camping on the seaside, rock climbing, fishing on small boat, making seafood by yourself and enjoy on the beach. There are no hotel or tourism services on Hon Seo, so you have to prepare everything before getting in here.
In order to explore Hon Seo, you can use boat services of tourism companies or hire fishing boats from fishermen at Nhon Ly. If starting from Nhon Ly Beach, your boat will pass through the Wind Strait (Eo Gio) to Yen (swallow) Island. It will take you 20 minutes to get to Hon Seo. But if you depart from Quy Nhon port, it will take you more than an hour to get there.
