1. Da Lat
Da Lat city is situated on Langbiang plateau, Lam Dong province, set up by French in the beginning of 20th century. It is located 1,500m above the sea level and covered by green forests. That is reason why Da Lat’s weather stands completely in contrast to Vietnam’s tropical climate in general. The average temperature of the city is 14ºC – 23ºC and mist cover the valleys almost year-round, leading it to had the nickname “the city of eternal spring”.

2. Sa Pa
Sa Pa is a famous mountainous town in the northern region of Vietnam. It lies at an altitude of about 1500 meters (4921 feet) above sea level. Therefore, it is highly seasonal, with a subtropical climate in the summer and a temperate climate during the winter. Annual temperature for Sa Pa town is 15.4 °C (59.7 °F), with a maximum of 29.4 °C (84.9 °F) and a minimum of 1.0 °C (33.8 °F).
Sa Pa is incredibly a picturesque town with both wonderful mountainous scenery and cultural diversity, including hill tribes, rice terraces, lush vegetation, and especially Fansipan, the highest peak in Vietnam.
3. Phia Oac
Located 2,000m above the sea level, Phia Oac is a peak in Cao Bang province, northern region. With its pristine beauty, it is considered as a “paradise” for adventurers and backpackers. The average temperature is always under 15ºC, and it is covered by mist all year round. It is perfect place to explore the immense beauty of Vietnam’s forests and mountains.
Besides, hiding in the dense forests of Phia Oac is dozens of ancient villas, built by French in the colonial time.
4. Tam Dao
The town of Tam Dao was built on Tam Dao Mountain as a resort by the French colonial government in the early 20th century. Lying on the height of 900m above the sea level, it has cool weather with four seasons within one day. The average temperature is 18-25ºC.
The cool, fresh air, in combination with occult, poetic and imposing scene of mountains, cloud, mist and the remnants of a glamorous resort is a ideal destination for your summer vacation.
5. Mau Son
Mau Son is a mount located on the north-east of Lang Son province, with the height of 1,000 m above the sea level. The average temperature of it is 15.5ºC. The weather is cool in summer and cold and snowy in winter.
Visiting Mau Son, you not only feel a typical Europe weather, a unique ethnic minority culture, an essentially fresh air, but also have chance to stand on the top of the mountain and see the whole view of imposing mountainous beauty of Vietnam.
6. Moc Chau
Moc Chau plateau is located 1,050 above sea level, featuring the temperate climate. It is chilly and frosty all the months in year.
Moc Chau is a very famous destination among Vietnamese backpackers. It has many attractive landmarks to see and a lot of special food to enjoy. In spring, you can admire beautifully bright hills of peach blossoms. Winter is the blooming season of white mustard flowers. In late autumn, the fields are colorful and stunning in white and pink of buckwheat flowers. And in summer, the interminable hills of tea are in immense green.
7. Bach Ma
Bach Ma range, located in Thua Thien-Hue province, is definitely one of the greatest places with refreshing climate in Vietnam. Lying 1,500m above sea level and also nearby the sea, the average temperature in here is never under 4ºC in winter and above 26ºC in summer.
Bach Ma range has Bach Ma National Park with a rich biodiversity and a lot of breathtaking landscapes as well as an old resort, built by French in 1930s.
8. Ba Na
