Several ways to travel to Vietnam

Although traveling by air seems to be the only method to enter Vietnam, the fact is that you may choose several other types of transportation.

Airway

Obviously, traveling by airplane is the best option in term of not only safe but also the greatest comfort for long distant travelers. However, this is also the most expensive one. Both Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi and Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC operate and welcome international airlines, while the third international airport in Da Nang City only serves domestic flights and Thailand – Vietnam routes.

Railway

Tourists from China or more specifically, in Beijing and Kunming may come to the nearest train station to buy tickets for the international railway to Hanoi.

Road

With the greatest flexibility and cost saving, car is not a bad choice for ones traveling short distances across the border between Vietnam and China, or Laos or Cambodia. However, this method requires great condition of one’ heath, as well as bandits may pay you a visit as reported in several precedents before.

 Waterway

Da Nang and Hai Phong can now be approached by boat. In year 2012, Da Nang welcomed the first cruise ship anchoring at its port. If foreigners travel to Vietnam by cruise, they can ask the cruise operator for visa arrangement.
