From July 1st 2014, VAT refund policy will be carry on for international visitor for Vietnam at 7 international border gates, including Noi Bai International Airport (Ha Noi), Da Nang International Airport (Da Nang City), Cam Ranh International Airport (Khanh Hoa Province), Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City), Da Nang International Seaport (Da Nang City), Nha Trang International Seaport (Khanh Hoa Province), and Khanh Hoi International Seaport (Ho Chi Minh City).

Accordingly, VAT refund will be taken into use for 1 day valid invoice in one store. The VAT refund amount account for 85% of VAT good amount. VAT refund cash in VND.

How to get VAT refund for overseas and foreigners

To get VAT refund, you have to submit your passport when you buy goods at the shops in Vietnam, so that the retailer can issue you the VAT refund declaration form. Then you keep a copy of this form to bring it to 1 of 7 international border gates to get your refund.

When you are at international border gate, come to VAT refund custom inspection office and hand over your passport, your invoices and the VAT declaration form to the person in charge in that office. They will check the information and give you VAT refund.
