Visiting the first “Green Fair” in Tra Que village (Hoi An, Quang Nam Province)
Under BlogThe first “Green Fair” was held in ancient village of Tra Que – the one be famous for planting vegetable on January 24th 2015.
Tra Que is one of the most aged villages in Hoi An (Quang Nam Province) which has tradition of planting vegetables and herb for more than 500 years. The village is still keeping growing different types of vegetable with very special and delicious taste.
Coming to the fair, visitors can join a lot of interesting activities. Tourists have chance to observe the process of planting fresh vegetable at Tra Que’s gardens. What’s unique about Tra Que’s vegetable growing process is that it is mostly cultivated manually. Moreover, the method to plant vegetable is kept in traditional way which lasted for a long time.
Especially, visitors can experience “one day being Tra Que’s resident” event when they learn to plant, harvest vegetables and make foods from those vegetables. There are also various local species of vegetable and herb is sold at the fair.
In the fair, a lot of beautiful hand-made or craft products made by the locals are displayed and sold. Many of them are aiming to raise fund for charity.
