Do you need a Vietnam visa?
Most foreigners must obtain Vietnam visa to enter the country legally, unless they come from one of Vietnam visa exemption countries.
Vietnam Visa exemption
Vietnam allows citizens of 17 countries to enter Vietnam without a visa with all kinds of passport for varying time periods
Citizens from 7 following countries do not require a visa to enter Vietnam for 30 days:
- Cambodia
- Indonesia
- Kyrgyzstan
- Laos
- Malaysia
- Singapore
- Thailand
Citizens of Philippines do not require a visa to visit Vietnam for 21 days
Citizens from 7 following countries do not require a visa to enter Vietnam for 15 days:
- Denmark
- Finland
- Japan
- Norway
- Russia
- South Korea
- Sweden
Citizens of Brunei and Myanmar do not require a visa to visit Vietnam for 14 days.
Other cases of visa exemption
Citizens of Chile holding valid diplomatic or official passport are exempt from visa requirement for less than 90 days.
Citizens of France holding valid diplomatic or official passport are granted for visa exemption for several visits of less than 90 days in the period of 6 months.
APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) Holders from Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) members do not require a visa for 60 days.
Officials and members from ASEAN Secretariat are exempt from visa requirement for 30 days.
All travelers do not require a visa to visit Phu Quoc (an island in Southern of Vietnam) for 30 days.
